Blow molding, also known as stretch blow molding, is a fabrication technique used to form hollow plastic parts, such as bottles, drums, and bulk housing tanks. The basic idea involves distending a preform – a tiny segment of resin – with compressed air inside a cavity. This pressure forces the resin against the lining of the mold, assuming its
